I always though that my father was born in Rionegro, a town close to our Carmen, the incipient second largest city of Antioquia, the city some people say El Carmen is a neighborhood of. The town where the liberal 1863 constitution was signed.

My mother, mocking, when the topic of my father´s origins was raised up in our conversations said: "You were born in Guarinó". I never understood how funny that sentence was, I only know that was a really far place from the urban area of the town.

I grew up with the existencial doubt of my father´s origin: Rionegro or Guarinó? And i was more confident with my father´s than my mother´s version, who won´t be in a mistake at the end. My father, Mister Romeo Montague, did born in El Carmen, and well, he was also from Rionegro: He was born in Quirama near to San Antonio de Pereyra and was baptized in Rionegro´s church.

From his house only remains the testimony of some soil-made walls that resist to the bordering idea of being from El Carmen or Rionegro... A house that neighbourgs have decided to turn on their distinguished dump, and who knows what, that because of some wandering spirits, any hand had to frighten off writing words in its walls.

Ahhh, Ug! (Párrafo escrito por Viborah)

I have always felt fascinated by the variety of people that live in El Carmen. This is an example: During a celebration promoted by the Culture Institute, an excellent pop group began playing a Juanes' song and, I dont know where from, an interesting man began dancing with a particular style. I asked for his name but nobody knew it. They only knew him by his nickname and this was as particular as himself. They called him: "Don Mambo" (Mister Mambo) and in the video there's a sample of his dancing. (Translation by diegomez)
